Attorney Sung-Hwa Ha Appointed as Member of the Game Rating and Administration Committee

Seoul, South Korea, June 4, 2026, HwaHyun Law Firm is pleased to announce that attorney Sung-Hwa Ha has been appointed as a member of the Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea.

The Ministry announced on June 4 the appointment of seven new members to the Committee following the expiration of the terms of several incumbent members. The newly appointed members will serve a three-year term beginning on the date of appointment.

The Game Rating and Administration Committee is the statutory body responsible for the classification and post-management of games distributed in Korea. Comprising nine members, the Committee is designed to reflect expertise from a broad range of fields, including culture and arts, cultural industries, youth affairs, law, education, media, and information and communications technology.

Attorney Ha joins a distinguished group of newly appointed members selected through a recommendation and review process overseen by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In making the appointments, the Ministry considered candidates’ professional expertise, commitment to the public interest, understanding of the game industry, and ability to contribute to key policy objectives such as youth protection, enhancement of user rights, and the promotion of public trust.

The appointment comes at a time when the social, cultural, and regulatory landscape surrounding digital games continues to evolve rapidly. The Ministry emphasized the importance of building a multidisciplinary committee capable of addressing increasingly complex policy issues and supporting the continued development of Korea’s globally competitive game industry.
